Famous ROM modification community stops operating, administrators and successors blame each other
The Fall of Romhacking.net: A Controversial Curtain Call
Romhacking.net, a well-known ROM modification site, has provided players with a wealth of content over the years. However, the sudden closure of the site has caused an uproar.

Initially, webmaster Nightcrawler announced that he was shutting down the site because of exhaustion. But he then broke the news that a group of users inside the site had been dishonest with him, leaking his personal information and plotting to kick him out.
The accusation has drawn sympathy and controversy. ROM modifier Gideon Zhi echoed Nightcrawler's tiredness, but he also accused Nightcrawler of exercising strict control over community content over the past decade and refusing to help.
Zhi also pointed out that Nightcrawler refused help from staff in the months leading up to the site's shutdown, and made unrealistic requests for a successor, making attempts to save the site more difficult.
In addition, Snarf, the site's Discord server administrator, denied Nightcrawler's accusations of personal information leakage.
This has stunned the ROM modification community. The closure of the Romhacking.net means that users have lost an important resource, and the controversy over the truth of the incident has also thrown the community into confusion.
